Maps and Prints
Maps by the great names: Speed, Blau, Kip, Kitchen,
etc, are very often framed up as attractive wall decorations. The quality of the
colouration, condition of the margins and rarity of the print all add to the value
of works in this fascinating subject.
A Map of Devon by John Speed (BK9/ 469) realised £340 in the Maps and Prints section

Early atlases provide fascinating insights into our knowledge of the geography of
our planet at different stages of our history.
Prints and engravings are an economical way of having great works of art on your
wall, and of course many are great works of art in themselves.

Splendid folio sets such as David Roberts' Middle Eastern views are very
highly valued as are the works of more modern printmakers such as Picasso
