The first day of the two day Autumn 2014 Fine Sale in October (FS24) starts off with the silver auction within the sale.
Amongst the highlights of this section is an Arts and Crafts influence pedestal silver bowl made by Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co in London in 1905 (FS24/19). It carries a pre-sale estimate of £800-£1,000. A Charles II silver caudle cup (maker HN Bird) with an olive branch below (FS24/86) and dated to 1664 is expected to fetch between £1,000 and £1,500.
The second part of the first day includes some super pieces of jewellery and watches.
A gentleman's 18ct gold Rolex oyster perpetual day date superlative chronometer wristwatch (FS24/117) carries a pre-sale estimate of £5,000-£7,000, whilst a very pretty Cartier diamond mounted bird on a branch brooch is expected to fetch between £3,000 and £4,000.
Within the pictures auction there is a pencil and watercolour with bodycolour by Myles Birket Foster (1825–1899) entitled Elderberry Gatherers (FS24/292). It is signed with a monogram lower left, titled and with a gallery label on the reverse. Measuring 33.5cm x 69.5cm, it carries a pre-sale estimate of £12,000-£18,000.
A painting by Robert O Lenkiewicz (1941–2002) titled Young Hasid (FS24/237) carries a pre-sale estimate of £4,000-£6,000.
Day Two of the sale commences with the ceramics and glass auction.
A mid 18th Century sealed mallet shaped wine bottle (FS24/369) dating from circa 1745–50, it is expected to fetch between £400-£600, whilst a Lalique vase Formose (FS24/372) carries a pre-sale estimate of £800-£1,000.
The ceramics section includes a Moorcroft pottery vase (FS24/528) with a green signature and '1919', which has a pre-sale estimate of £1,000-£1,200 and a Wilson creamware topographical part dessert service (FS24/438) is inviting bids of between £800 and £1,200.
The works of art auction follows on from this and includes a Louis Vuitton canvas and wood bound travelling trunk (FS24/552) that has an estimate of £3,000-£3,500.
A 19th Century mahogany apothecary's travelling box (FS24/556) is expected to fetch £800-£900, whilst a Chinese carved tusk group (FS24/596) carries a pre-sale estimate of £1,500-£2,000.
The final section of the sale does not disappoint with some lovely pieces of period furniture on offer.
An early 18th Century walnut and cross and feather banded kneehole desk (FS24/776) is inviting bids of £3,000-£4,000, whilst a Black Forest carved lindenwood stick stand in the form of a standing bear (FS24/855) has a pre-sale estimate of £800-£1,200.
