Guests at the Private View for the Winter 2014 Westcountry Fine Art Sale eagerly await a talk on some of the more important lots in the auction, presented by Andrew Thomas.
Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood held a Private View of the Winter 2014 Westcountry Fine Art Auction at their newly extended South West Auction Centre at St Edmund's Court on Okehampton Street in Exeter on Friday, 17th January 2014.
The Private View was exceptionally well attended and presented an opportunity for the invited guests to peruse the many high quality lots on offer in the sale, including A chance to get close to the works of the Rhead family of potters and artists contained in the Rhead Cronin Collection, which included many previously undocumented art pottery patterns, and the internationally significant Penrose Collection of Waterford Irish Glass with provenance of direct descent from the founding family of the famous glassworks.
The doors opened at 5:30pm giving attendees an opportunity to take a quick look at the items on view in the Upper Saleroom and new Gallery Saleroom before listening to an illustrated talk by expert Andrew Thomas at 6:30pm. The talk provided guests with an overview of the rich and varied selection of lots on offer before allowing them to continue enjoying the fine art on display.
Guests enjoyed drinks and canapes as they studied the lots on offer in the first of the quarterly fine art auctions of 2014.
The audience at the Private View in Exeter listened attentively as Andrew Thomas expertly guided them through the more important items included in the fine art auction.
The talk was held in the Upper Saleroom at the South West Auction Centre, which itself is now around one third larger after the alterations to the salerooms was completed late last year.
The auction rooms in Exeter witnessed a constant flow of people arriving to view the rich and varied selection of fine art, silver, ceramics, works of art, clocks and barometers, watches, jewellery, furniture and pictures on view.
