Today Montblanc forms part of the Richemont group that includes the luxury brands Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Baume et Mercier. The Montblanc brand sells a variety of products including pens, watches and jewellery, with the Montblanc 'Writers Edition' of pens being quite profitable. These Montblanc pens are launched each year, commemorating the life and work of a particular writer.
Our quarterly fine auction of jewellery will be held as part of our quarterly fine sale on 3rd July 2013 at our Exeter salerooms in Okehampton Street includes a couple of Montblanc fountain pens.
The first of these is a black and blue marble effect pen (FS19/145), which is inscribed Edgar A Poe and numbered 15208/17000. The nib is stamped Montblanc 1998 4810 750 18k and it is contained within a fitted case with international service certificate book. It has a pre-sale estimate of £200-£300.

The second montblanc item in the fine jewellery auction is a black and amber fountain pen inscribed F Schiller. Again, it is numbered, 08038/18000 and the nib is stamped Montblanc 2000 4810 750 18k. This pen also has a pre-sale estimate of £200-£300
