Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood are excited to offer the black straw and taffeta bow hat worn by Andie MacDowell in the 1994 movie 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' at our Sporting and Collectors Auction.
The auction takes place on the 9th & 10th of December, bidding commencing at 10.00 am. This hat is Lot 859, estimated at £2,000-£3,000 (plus Buyers Premium and VAT).
Made by Herald & Hart Hatters, London, the hat has a diameter of 53cm. It was worn by MacDowell, who played Carrie, the love interest of Hugh Grant’s character, Charles, when they met at the first of the four titular weddings.
Formerly the property of Catherine Foxcroft, an elocution specialist who worked with Barney Coleham at the BBC and film productions, reputedly coaching Andie MacDowell.
