Piers Critchlow heads the pictures department at Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood. An auctioneer and valuer with 20 years of experience in the auction industry, working across both the South West and the Cotswolds from auction porter graduating to auctioneer, valuer and saleroom manager.
Before moving to Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood he previously worked at Bonhams where he undertook valuation work across the South West, conducting professional valuations for both probate and insurance purposes. Works that he has identified and consigned into sale have set world record prices for artists across multiple pictures disciplines.
Joining Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood to head the pictures department, as well as undertaking general valuation work, he is proud to have consigned a single owner collection of studio pottery into sale achieving a ‘white glove’ sale or 100% sell through rate. Piers works closely with various departments, contributing to the quarterly Fine Art Auctions, the 20th Century and Contemporary sales as well as Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood’s specialist Maritime Auctions.
