The forthcoming two day sale on Wednesday, 11th July 2012 and Thursday, 12th July 2012, which is being held at our salerooms in Exeter, promises to offer some exciting finds in just over 800 lots.

Day one of the sale will include silver, jewellery, pictures and maritime items while day two will see the ceramics, works of art and furniture being sold at auction.

There are many highlights of the sale, so it is difficult to pick out a few to whet the appetite.

However, amongst the silver is a commonwealth silver paten that has a local connection with Devon. It was originally part of the ecclesiastical silver at St Lawrence's Church, which once stood on Exeter's High Street. It is estimated to reach between £1,000 and £2,000 when it is auctioned.

Other interesting pieces include an early 19th Century enamelled gold rectangular snuff box (lot 206), which carries a pre-sale estimate of £5,000-£8,000; a platinum and diamond single stone ring (lot 207), having a 2ct diamond which is expected to fetch between £5,000 and £7,000; and a very rare Colonial silver dipper from the 18th Century (lot 368), which is being offered with a £2,500-£3,000 estimate.

There is also a Martin Brothers salt glazed stoneware vase from our Ceramics and Glass department, which is estimated to reach between £1,200 and £1,500.

Walter Frederick Osborne's oil on board of the High Street Rye is inviting bids between £4,000 and £6,000. In the furniture section of the sale, a solid English walnut extending dining table by Peter Van Der Waals is inviting bids of between £4,000 and £6,000.

The Works of Art department is also offering a Chinese carved stone Buddhist stele that has been estimated at between £3,000 and £5,000.

The sale catalogue is now available to view online or in person on Saturday, 7th July 2012 between 9:00am and 1:00pm; Sunday, 8th July 2012 between 2:00pm and 4:00pm; and on Monday, 9th July 2012 and Tuesday, 10th July 2012 from 9:00am to 5:15pm. There will be limited opportunities to view the sale from 9:00am on each sale day.
