Vintage, Retro and Antique Clothing, Luggage, Fashion Accessories, Costume Jewellery, Lace and Linen for Auction

A pair of Charles Jourdan silk court shoes (size 5.5) and a pair of pale blue leather ladies shoes carry a pre-sale estimate of £10-£20 (SS1/24).

On Tuesday, 24th November 2015 we are offering a Special Sale that comprises a single owner collection of vintage and retro clothing, luggage, shoes and fashion accessories, together with antique clothing, lace and linen, followed by a large section of jewellery including Retro costume jewellery. The Special Sale forms the first of two days of intense selling at our Exeter salerooms with our regular antiques and interiors auction following on Wednesday, 25th November 2015.

The Vintage and Retro Clothing Collection consists of over 100 lots ranging from high fashion design like Christian Dior, Biba, Aquascutum, Courreges, Givenchy, Marshall & Snelgrove and Nancy Gunn, to the quirky and collectable like corsets, leather gaiters, faux fur, whips and silk underwear.

A green 'snake skin' hand bag together with various red, orange and purple hand bags are expected to fetch between £40-£60 at the auction in Exeter (SS1/14).

A Christian Dior Modele Original cream and gold two piece suit that is inviting bids of £80-£120 (SS1/46).

The collection includes mid 20th Century classics like trouser suits including a gold 'lame' example, dresses and skirts, long coats and eye-catching period blouses. There are a number of authentic mid-length sleeveless 'flapper' dresses, some weighed down with beads and decoration and a gentleman's dandy morning suit with a top hat.

Among the accessories are leather court and evening shoes, makers include Emilio Pucci and Ferragamo, clutch bags, patent leather high boots, crocodile skin suitcases, parasols, walking canes, handbags and cashmere cardigans and sweaters.

There is also authentic Victorian and Edwardian clothing, a large collection of antique lace and linen, and authentic Chinese silks.

The large jewellery section includes retro and fashion costume jewellery to compliment the clothing along with a range of precious and semi-precious jewellery including diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, amethysts, opals, gold and silver. Estimates across the whole collection will range from £20 upwards.

The sale also includes some pottery, including some pieces from the Roy Paine Collection of Torquay Pottery.
