Dylan Thomas (1914-1953) - a legendary Welsh poet from Swansea. He became popular in his own lifetime and remained so after his death, partly because of his larger than life character and also for his reputation for drinking to excess.

In the Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood antiquarian book auction on 21st August 2013, there is a first edition by Dylan Thomas of his most famous book ‘Under Milk Wood’. However of more interest is a signed letter inside a signed presentation copy of the book 'Death and Entrances' written by Dylan Thomas to the St Ives Artist Michael Snow, dated July 15th 1948. He amusingly apologies for not writing before, saying ‘I’ve been away hunting bread and butter’. He graciously accepts the offer to become President of the Ulysses Club. The pre-sale estimate for this unique lot in our rare book auction is £1,000-£1,500.
