Rod Pearce: An Amusing Oil Painting of St Ives
Published 27th June 2013
There is a charming and amusing oil painting of St Ives by Rod Pearce in our Selected Picture Sale on 23rd July 2013.
Rod Pearce - St Ives
The painting mocks the cramped town with fishermen’s cottages back to back along steep steps and cobbles. Surmounting the scene is a lighthouse and weather vane. The artist Rod Pearce lived in St Ives in the 1940s and has been a regular visitor all his life. This painting is estimated at £80-£120 and is one among over 150, 19th and 20th century oil paintings, watercolours, minatures and prints that will be sold at our auction rooms in Honiton on 23rd July 2013.
