Omega 'Speedmaster Professional' Wristwatch in Jewellery Auction
Published 27th June 2013
Omega has produced a wide range of wristwatches which are known for their reliability, accuracy, performance and style.
Their Speedmaster Chronograph wristwatch is particularly sought after and has an interesting history. In 1965, Omega's Speedmaster chronograph was 'flight-qualified' by NASA and was the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the US space agency's severe tests. The Omega Speedmaster became the first watch to be worn on the moon in 1969 and rescued the Apollo 13 mission from a potential disaster. This earned Omega's 'Snoopy Award'.
You can find various Omega wristwatches in our auctions. We have an Omega Speedmaster wristwatch in our Fine Jewellery Auction in Exeter on 3rd July 2013, (FS19/113).
