A North Devon pottery documentary harvest jug of typical bellied form with raised neck and ribbed strap handle with scroll terminal sgraffito and slipware decorated with the horse drawn Durrant Common Stage Waggon (sic) approaching the Rising Sun Inn followed by the wagoner with a speech bubble 'Away me Lads' all above the inscription to Edmund Davey Sept. 22 1816', beneath the handle a heart shaped panel captioned 'Fill mee full of liquor sweet for that his good when friends do meet when friends do meet and liquor plenty fill me again when I be empty', the neck bordered with leaves, 24cm high, [stapled crack and some glaze loss].

An Elizabethan armorial silver-gilt mounted 'Tigerware' jug with cylindrical neck and strap handle, the domed cover with winged figure thumbpiece and embossed with satyre masks and fruit, the neck mount with four relief lion masks and engraved with the coat-of-arms for Ellis, Kent in a cartouche on a ground of strapwork and foliage, worn maker's mark possibly A for A Lombardi circa 1571, 19.5cm [some damage to handle].
