Sale Notes
Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood's sale of 12th November 2013 has over 900 lots on offer as part of Honiton Antiques Festival week.
Starting with 150 lots of silver from Victorian silver tea services to small silver lorgnettes, the range of pieces in the sale will suit all tastes. Among the 200 lots of jewellery, there is an opportunity to start Christmas shopping early with a pair of ruby and diamond drop earrings (HO79/333) with circular, brilliant cut diamonds and calibre cut rubies, suspending a ruby and diamond lozenge shaped drop, which is estimated at between £300 and £400.
The sale continues with a single owner collection of Swansea pottery, as well as Moorcroft and Staffordshire.
One of the highlights of the Works of Art section is the delightful 19th Century French rosewood and inlaid music box by J Thibouville Lamy & Ci (HO79/578). Playing six airs including 'Daisy-Daisy', the mechanism has bell accompaniment with bee hammers as well as snare drum. The tone will no doubt attract bidders to the pre-sale estimate of £500-£700.
