A 19th Century Yew-wood Turned Rolling Pin (SS9/6) offered in our A Sale of Antique Kitchenalia starting on 11th July 2022 at our salerooms in Exeter, Devon.

Lot Description

A 19th Century yew-wood turned rolling pin of elongated form, 40cm long, a 19th century beechwood Scottish oat crusher with multiple turnings, 31cm long, and two other rolling pins.

This lot comprises of four pieces.

Sale FS37; Lot: 0718: A massive Japanese Satsuma porcelain dish decorated with two shaped panels of ladies on a garden terrace and two ladies and a child in an interior with Mount Fuji beyond, on an ornate ground of butterflies, flowers and foliage within scale borders, the underside similarly decorated, gilt mark for Satsuma ware with the Shimizu mon, 89cm diameter and stained wood stand.

Sale FS41; Lot: 0904: W Helliwell, Chorley a moon-phase longcase clock having an eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the fourteen-inch brass break-arch dial having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, outer Arabic five-minute numerals with the maker's name engraved either side of VI o'clock W Helliwell, Chorley, the silvered centre engraved with rococo style decoration and having a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the arch having a moonphase disc decorated with landscape and seascape scenes, with cast-brass rococo spandrels to the four corners and blued steel hands, the mahogany case having a shaped top to the trunk door and fluted quarter columns, with the hood having fluted pillars with cast-brass capitals, a swan-neck pediment with verre eglomisé panels of gilded decoration on blue glass, with an oriental finial to the centre and two turned wooden side finials, the base having canted corners, a raised shaped panel and standing on bracket feet, height 236cms.
