Dame Lucie Rie DBE (1902-1995), a porcelain bottle vase of shouldered oviform with raised slender neck and flaring rim decorated with mildly pitted, curdled and banded bronze glazes with linear sgrafitto or 'knitted' decoration inside the rim, on the shoulders and under the foot, impressed personal seal, 24cm high.

Lot Description

Dame Lucie Rie DBE (1902-1995), a porcelain bottle vase of shouldered oviform with raised slender neck and flaring rim decorated with mildly pitted, curdled and banded bronze glazes with linear sgrafitto or 'knitted' decoration inside the rim, on the shoulders and under the foot, impressed personal seal, 24cm high.

This lot is subject to Droit de Suite.

Notes

A similar vase was acquired for the Boymans Museum, Rotterdam in 1977 and is illustrated by Tony Birks, Lucie Rie, page 147.
