Lenkiewicz 2008 Sale
Summary
Lenkiwicz 2008 comes three and a half years after the last major dispersal from the estate of the artist, which was conducted by Bearne's at Westpoint, and is again on the instructions of Peter Walmsley of Boyce Hatton Solicitors, the executors of the Lenkiewicz estate.
Every item in the sale is directly from the estate of Robert Lenkiewicz and since his death has been held in storage. The Executor will, for the time being, retain a small core group of work, so this auction, along with hundreds of drawing and skethces, includes all the other remaining monumental and important painting from the estate and will be the last major disperal.
The Sale includes work which spans the whole of the painter's life, from the 1950s when Lenkiwicz lived in Hampstead, ranging to the work completed in the year of his death. Work that covers almost 50 years which in itself is a documentary of the path, the style, the attitude, the circumstance and the life of Robert Lenkiewicz.
