Lot Description
A WWI Military Cross group of five to Sir Harold Lister Farquhar KCMG, MC (1894-1954) 2nd Lifeguards, KCMG and neck badge, Military Cross, 1914-15 Star, War Medal, Victory Medal and King Gustav V's 90th Birthday Commemorative Decoration, together with corresponding miniatures and a set of four WWII miniature service medals in a gilt brass glazed case, the case 50cm x 31cm.
Notes
- the Farquhar Baronetcy, of Cadogan House in the County of Middlese, was created in the Baronetage of Great Britain on 1 March 1796 for Walter Farquhar, Physician to George IV when Prince of Wales and subsequently President of the Royal College of Physicians . Sir Harold Farquhar, grandson of Harvie Morton Farquhar, second son of the second Baronet, was a diplomat and served as British Ambassador to Eithopia 1946-48 and Sweden between 1948 and 1951.
