Sale Notes
The Sporting and Collector's Sale on 20th March 2013 at Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood's Honiton saleroom in Dowell Street has an eclectic mix of items for the specialist collector.
The sale starts in typical Westcountry Auctioneer fashion with a range of Hunting and Sporting Antiques. There is the carved dog's head umbrella (SC16/20B), hunting boots, hunting horns and a number of Sporting and equestrian pictures on offer.
The sporting theme continues with a good selection of Antique Firearms, including flintlock and percussion cap examples. One of the highlights of the Antique Firearms section is the Remington New Model Army six shot revolver (SC16/90) that should entice strong international bidding.
The Militaria market continues to remain strong in 2013 and the selection of medals within the sale includes an impressive World War II group belonging to Major General Horace Leslie Birks CB, DSO (1897-1985) (SC16/135) (Estimate: £6,000-£8,000) as well as several Victorian service groups for the campaign collectors.
The sale continues with Stamps, Coins, Textiles, Motorsport, Dolls, Railways and Rock & Pop and Film memorabilia, offering a good selection within each section for the avid collector.
