Sale Notes
The Maritime auction on the 21st June 2022 once again has several interesting historical pieces, alongside a good selection of ship's fittings, navigational instruments and maritime collectables.
Crossing the maritime and musical genres is the ships' bell form the Mersey Ferry 'Egremont'. Built in Dartmouth in 1951 for Wallasey Corporation it was one of the ferries that inspired Gerry and the Pacemakers to write 'Ferry Cross the Mersey' and was the ferry on which the film of the same name was made in 1965.
A spoon from the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-04, belonging to of Louis Charles Bernacchi is included in the sale as well as a fine builders model of the hydraulic steam lifeboat 'City of Glasgow'. For more information contact Brian Goodison-Blanks
