An Early 19th Century Sunderland Copper Lustre Plaque 'The Mariner's Compass' (MA14/3) offered in our Maritime Auction starting on 11th June 2014 at our salerooms in Exeter, Devon.

Lot Description

An early 19th century Sunderland copper lustre plaque 'The Mariner's Compass', either by Moore or Garrison, central monochrome transfer with red and green glaze highlights within a purple and copper lustre border, 21x23cm.

The Tek Sing Wreck Collection

This item is part of a 210 lot collection being sold at auction through Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood.

The Tek Sing Wreck Collection consists primarily of blue and white decorated plates, bowls and dishes, with some blanc de chine, celadon and olive glazed porcelain vases, cosmetic boxes and jars. The majority of the collection was manufactured at Dehua kilns. It is, to date, the largest cargo of Chinese porcelain that has been salvaged from a wreck.
