W A.S Benson (1854-1924) a silver plated kettle, stand and burner stamped Benson, of squat circular form with swept handle, raised on a pair of swept supports with central burner on four swept legs, 25cm high.

Sale FS41; Lot: 1025: A Regency rosewood, carved giltwood and brass mounted side cabinet, of breakfront outline, surmounted by a panel of white veined marble, having a brass C-scroll decorated moulded edge and reel turned frieze, the central cupboard enclosed by a pair of brass lattice and pleated silk panel doors, flanked by panels to either side with gilt anthemions at base, between foliate mounted plain pilasters, the side cupboards each enclosed by a moulded panel door, on a plinth base with reel turned moulding, 168.5cm (5ft 6 1/4in) long, 40cm (1ft 3 3/4in) deep, 96.5cm (3ft 2in) high.

Sale FS37; Lot: 1209: A 19th Century walnut and parcel-gilt architectural wall mirror, in the George II taste, the acanthus decorated broken pediment centred by a palmette spray, having a similar palmette and acanthus scroll frieze, the rectangular bevelled plate within a gilt foliate slip and shaped egg and dart surround, 129.5cm (4ft 3in) x 60cm (1ft 11 1/2in).

Sale FS41; Lot: 0899: James Edwards, Stourbridge, a striking skeleton clock the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement having scroll shaped plates standing on a pair of plinths, five-spoke wheelwork and striking the hours on a bell set to the top, the silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman hour numerals and the retailer's name Cave, Plymouth, with blued steel Germanic cross hands, standing on a rosewood base with glass dome (damaged), height 38.5cm includes base and dome. * Biography James Edwards is recorded as working in Stourbridge, Worcestershire from before 1829, when he is known to have been in the High Street, until 1853 by which time he is known to be working at Hagley Road. by 1860 all records of him stop so presumably he had ceased trading or died at this point. Edwards was probably the first of the skeleton clock makers to produce top quality pieces on a fairly large scale, pre-dating both Evans of Handsworth and Smiths of Clerkenwell by at least ten years. * Note. Reference Derek Roberts, Skeleton Clocks Britain 1800-1914; Antique Collectors Club 1987; pages 173-177.
