A Fine Regency Giltwood and Gesso Overmantel Mirror (FS46/1021) offered in our Two Day Fine Art Sale starting on 21st July 2020 at our salerooms in Exeter, Devon.
Lot Description
A fine Regency giltwood and gesso overmantel mirror, of large size in the Egyptianesque manner, having a reeded cornice of recessed breakfront outline, the frieze with applied anthemions and palm sprays within leaf cartouches, flanked by panels with sphinxes, the rectangular plate flanked by twin Egyptian monopediae stiles to either side and with scale ornament, 235cm (7ft 8 1/2in) x 180cm (5ft 11in).
