Lot Description

Rolex. A gentleman's stainless steel 'Rolex Oyster' wristwatch circa 1982 model 6426 the dial with gilt baton markers, sweep centre seconds and official United Arab Emirates Armed Forces logo, Rolex crown and seventeen jewel movement, numbered between the lugs '7121773' and '6426', on Oyster bracelet numbered '78350-19'.

Notes

Formed in 1951, the United Arab Emirates have since been a symbol of public order in Eastern Arabia. Since their formation, the armed forces have been deployed in various military and humanitarian missions, also commonly known as 'Little Sparta'.

Important Notes

Prospective buyers of coloured gemstones should be aware that some stones might have been treated to enhance their colour or clarity. Sapphires and rubies are commonly heat-treated and emeralds are commonly oiled. In the case of heat treatment, this is permanent but can affect the durability of the stones. In the case of oiling, this may need to be redone after a period of years. The international jewellery trade has generally accepted these methods. It is not possible for Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood to obtain gemmological reports on stones offered for sale and so prospective buyers should assume all gemstones have been enhanced by some method.
