A Regency rosewood, carved giltwood and brass mounted side cabinet, of breakfront outline, surmounted by a panel of white veined marble, having a brass C-scroll decorated moulded edge and reel turned frieze, the central cupboard enclosed by a pair of brass lattice and pleated silk panel doors, flanked by panels to either side with gilt anthemions at base, between foliate mounted plain pilasters, the side cupboards each enclosed by a moulded panel door, on a plinth base with reel turned moulding, 168.5cm (5ft 6 1/4in) long, 40cm (1ft 3 3/4in) deep, 96.5cm (3ft 2in) high.

A Regency rosewood, carved giltwood and brass mounted side cabinet, of breakfront outline, surmounted by a panel of white veined marble, having a brass C-scroll decorated moulded edge and reel turned frieze, the central cupboard enclosed by a pair of brass lattice and pleated silk panel doors, flanked by panels to either side with gilt anthemions at base, between foliate mounted plain pilasters, the side cupboards each enclosed by a moulded panel door, on a plinth base with reel turned moulding, 168.5cm (5ft 6 1/4in) long, 40cm (1ft 3 3/4in) deep, 96.5cm (3ft 2in) high.

Sale FS39; Lot: 0732: Samuel Marti, Paris, a brass and enamelled oval four glass clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong and having a 'Brocot' regulation to the suspension, the backplate stamped with the trademark of the maker showing a Paris Exposition award, S Marti et Cie, Medaille d'Argent, 1889, and numbered 2259, the round white enamel dial having black Arabic hour numerals with coloured swags set between and decorative blued steel hands, the bezel set with cut paste brilliants, the gilded pendulum bob with matching brilliants, the oval brass four-glass case having bands of coloured champlevé enamel set to the base and top with grooved corners, height 29cm * Biography Samuel Marti was one of the most prolific French makers of the 1800s and was known to be working circa 1860 at Le Pays de Montbeliard, Paris making roulant blancs. Along with Japy Freres and Roux they set up a business in 1863 to market their movements to such firms as L'Epee. Their Paris address was Rue Vieille-du-Temple from 1870.
