Sale FS41; Lot: 0566: A pair of London blue and white delftware dry drug jars each painted with an elaborate strapwork cartouche surmounted with a shell and two winged cherubs, a cupid's head and floral swags below, inscribed 'Bals:Lucat' and 'U:Dialthae', circa 1730-50, 16.5cm high [some damage and glaze losses]. *Note. Balsamum Lucatelli was used to treat ulcers and Unguentum Dialthae to decrease inflammation and heal wounds.
