A French Edwardian Corniche Carriage Clock (FS41/882) offered in our Two Day Fine Art Sale starting on 29th January 2019 at our salerooms in Exeter, Devon.
Lot Description
A French Edwardian Corniche carriage clock the eight-day duration movement having a platform lever escapement and striking the hours and half-hours on a gong with a push button to repeat the last hour at will, the backplate stamped with the serial number 2130, the white enamel dial having black Roman hour numerals, blued steel hands, an engraved gilded mask and signed for the retailer Goldsmiths Co, 112 Regent Street, London & Paris, the winding key stamped with a repeat of the serial number, the brass corniche case with typical three bail handle, height 17.5cm handle up, 15cm handle down.
