Boxell, Brighton an easel clock in the manner of Thomas Cole the eight-day duration timepiece movement having a lever escapement, the diamond shaped silvered dial with engraved decoration, black Roman numerals and blued-steel spade hands and painted with the name of the retailer Boxell, Brighton, either side of XI o'clock, the diamond shaped gilt-brass case with engraved decoration and with an easel stand to the rear, complete with travelling case, height 15.5cm * Biography Boxell of Brighton were a well-known retailer who, amongst other items, sold clocks by the best of the French carriage clock makers as well as English clocks made by Thomas Cole and others.
