Lot Description

An 18th Century mahogany and later floral marquetry bureau, the sloping fall decorated with floral foliate sprays radiating from an urn, enclosing a fitted interior with small drawers and pigeon holes about a central enclosed cupboard flanked by upright concealed compartments with blind fret carved ornament, containing four long graduated drawers below, on bracket feet, 110.5cm (3ft 7 1/2in) wide.

Sale FS41; Lot: 0895: A Regency mahogany bracket clock the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement of unusual shape having a verge escapement and a fully engraved backplate with the centre cartouche engraved RC, the seven-inch round painted convex dial having black Roman numerals and blued steel heart shaped hands, the mahogany case having a pediment top surmounted by a brass pineapple finial, with brass trim to the inset panels at each corner, with brass stringing to the lower base, brass fish-scale sound frets to the sides, cornucopia handles above the frets and standing on brass ball feet, height 50cms.
