A fine Japanese carved and inlaid ivory okimono, signed Gyokusai inlaid with mother of pearl, wood and coral, the samurai holding a sake cup and gourd-shaped bottle, a small boy to one side trying to steal some dumplings from a packet attached to the samurai's robe, signed on a red lacquer tablet, Meiji, 19cm high [repair to one arm].

Lot Description

A fine Japanese carved and inlaid ivory okimono, signed Gyokusai inlaid with mother of pearl, wood and coral, the samurai holding a sake cup and gourd-shaped bottle, a small boy to one side trying to steal some dumplings from a packet attached to the samurai's robe, signed on a red lacquer tablet, Meiji, 19cm high [repair to one arm].
