Sale FS40; Lot: 0811: An English Georgian bronze and ormolu mantel clock in the form of Atlas the eight-day duration, timepiece single-fusee movement having an anchor escapement, with the pendulum bob affixed with a plaque depicting a female head, the round white enamel convex dial having black Roman numerals, with blued steel moon hands and a cast gilded bezel of floral decoration, all being held on the shoulders of a bronze depiction of the God Atlas, standing on a square bronze base with ormolu mounts to the sides and a further ormolu mount to the front depicting an eagle within a wreath, with acanthus-leaf mounts to the plinth, height 35cms.
