Lot Description
A carpenter's 18th Century oak tool chest on a stand, the chest with a hinged top enclosing a fitted interior with various divisions, containing two long drawers below, the lower drawer and stand with bold applied carved flowerheads and paterae, the sides with applied iron handles and carved paterae above, 79cm (2ft 7in) wide.
Notes
Bears a paper label London __ 17__. 'Bought of James Buttall, Ironmonger and Brazier at the Gridiron near Hungerford Market in the Strand'.
