A Louis XV/XVI transitional kingwood, marquetry and gilt metal mounted block front commode, surmounted by a grey variegated marble top with a moulded edge and canted angles, the frieze decorated with roundels and with a central panel of musical and foliate trophy flanked by urns and foliage and to the side panels, containing two long drawers flanked by chevron banded canted angles headed with applied reeded, foliate swag and tasselled ornament, on slight cabriole legs, terminating in sabots, 96cm (3ft 1 3/4in) wide.
