Thomas Luny [1759-1837] - Teignmouth Harbour - signed and dated T LUNY 1828 oil on canvas 49.5 x 67cm.

Notes

Sold with a photocopy from a Painting Diary which indicates this was painted on 5th July 1828 and sold to Mr Rogers, Veterinary Surgeon, Exeter, for 6gns Thomas Luny moved to Teignmouth in 1807. There he received a number of commissions, mostly from ex mariners, local gentry and businessmen. His output in Devon continued at a pace and during the 30 years in Teignmouth he produced some of his best works.
