Sale FS52; Lot: 0804: A large Chinese Imperial yellow-ground 'dragon' charger with Chuxiugong mark, incised and painted in green, white and aubergine with two five-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl amongst cloud scrolls and flames within a central medallion, the sides with prunus, peony, chrysanthemum and lotus, the rim with six further dragons, the underside with four dragons and five cranes in flight, underglaze blue four-character seal mark 'Chu Xiu Gong Zhi' [Produced for the Palace of Assembled Elegance], Guangxu period, 47.5cm diameter [crack to rim with associated filled chip].

Sale FS45; Lot: 0302: English Provincial School, 18th Century - Portrait of Black John, jester, full-length standing,- oil on canvas, 103 x 62cm * Note. Black John, said to be Jester to J Arscott of Tetcott [of hunting fame]. Arscott [1718-1788] was the last man in England to keep a professional jester and, on his death, left the Tetcott property, where he was buried, to the Molesworths. Black John was so attached to his master that he built a shelter close to the church at Tetcott and there, with an old hound as his sole companion, he grieved away the remainder of his life and died of a broken heart.

Sale FS41; Lot: 0895: A Regency mahogany bracket clock the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement of unusual shape having a verge escapement and a fully engraved backplate with the centre cartouche engraved RC, the seven-inch round painted convex dial having black Roman numerals and blued steel heart shaped hands, the mahogany case having a pediment top surmounted by a brass pineapple finial, with brass trim to the inset panels at each corner, with brass stringing to the lower base, brass fish-scale sound frets to the sides, cornucopia handles above the frets and standing on brass ball feet, height 50cms.

Sale FS40; Lot: 0773: Franz Bergman, a 19th century Austrian cold painted bronze group of a tiger hunt the Arab astride an elephant with a dead tiger strapped behind, with walking attendant below, stamped to the underside with Bergman vase stamp, 'Geschutzt' stamp and numbered 3412, vase stamp and model No also stamped to the saddle blanket, 23.5cm high, together with two Arab boys with donkeys each bearing Bergman vase stamp, each 14cm high.
