An early George III silver table centrepiece, maker Thomas Hemming, London, 1765 bears Lovell family coat of arms, surmounted with a lozenge-shaped dish with pierced foliate and trellis decoration with glass liner, the domed shaped base, with beaded order to the neck, pierced foliate, scroll and flowerhead chased decoration, on four swept feet, having four swept branches each with a foliate circular dish with glass liners, 28cm wide, 26cm high, together with a set of four plated candle holders and central candle holder supported by a putto to convert the centrepiece to a candelabra, total weight of silver 79.42ozs.

Johnson, Strand, London, the mahogany dome-topped case having a full opening glazed door, canted corners, raised moulding to the base and standing on bracket feet, height 183cm * Biography A number of makers by the name of William Johnson are recorded as working in London, with the most likely maker of this regulator being the William recorded as having premises in the Strand from circa 1825 until 1840.
