An Edwardian mahogany and marquetry kidney-shaped kneehole writing desk or dressing table, crossbanded in satinwood, bordered with boxwood and ebonised lines, the top with a wide banded and moulded border decorated with flowerheads and husks, containing a central apron drawer flanked by four short drawers to either side, decorated with anthemions, foliate motifs and scrollwork, between satinwood simulated fluted pilasters, the front with panels of ribbon tied drapery, oval fan and husk medallions and neo-classical urns and scrolling foliage, on square tapered legs, terminating in castors, 139cm (4ft 6 3/4in) wide.

Sale FS41; Lot: 0906: A Georgian mahogany longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the twelve-inch painted cream break-arch dial having black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, a 'strike/silent' dial within the arch and blued steel heart shaped hands, the London-style mahogany case having a break-arch moulding to the top of the trunk door, fluted quartered columns with cast-brass capitals and brass stops being repeated to the hood, the base with a shaped raised panel and double plinth, height 29cms.
