Sale Notes
The Antiquarian Book Salae to be held on 7th /8th December 2021 includes over 800 lots with a good selection of books across all disciplines.
Of particular note, is a good collection of over 30 lots of early bibles, four private collections including one of Cornish books, many children’s illustrated volumes, including many by Arthur Rackham, many science and natural history, history, literature and biography.
Highlights of the sale include an eight volume set of the Great Exhibition Catalogue (BK25/17), which carries a pre-sale estimate of £3,000-£5,000, Philip Rashleigh’s Specimens of British Minerals (BK25/506) with an estimate of £3,000-£4,000 and an unusual collection of signed letters, photos and ephemera relating to the suffragettes (BK25/830), which is inviting bids of £750-£1,000.
