Raingo Freres

Information about French clockmakers Raingo Freres

Raingo Freres were well-known clockmakers working in Paris in the 19th century. They had a reputation for making orrerys, a mechanical system that showed the movements of the earth and moon around the sun, and which usually sat on top of the clock case. A fine example can be seen in the Science Museum, London.
