Biography of Brisitsh artist Claude Flight (1881-1955)

Claude Flight (1881-1955) was a British artist who pioneered and popularised the linoleum cut technique. Flight also painted, illustrated and made wood cuts. He studied at Heatherley School of Fine Art latterly exhibiting at the RA, Paris, the RBA and the Redfern Gallery.

Flight was a member of the Seven & Five Society, whose members included Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth. He was influenced by many art movements of the time: Cubism, Futurism and Vorticism.
