Biography of the English painter Claud William Harrison (1922-1989)
Claude William Harrison (1929-1989), an English painter, was born in Leyland, Lancashire in 1929. Harrison married the artist Audrey Johnson and their son is the potter Tobias Harrison.
After Royal Air Force service, Harrison attended the Royal College of Art between 1947 and 1950.
Harrison was a painter of murals, conversation pieces and imaginative groups of harlequins and masked figures with tempera a preferred medium. Harrison had numerous solo and mixed exhibitions, including at the Contemporary Fine Art Gallery at Eton, Phoenix Gallery Highgate and the Royal Academy.
Harrison published the Book of Tobit in 1969.
He died in 1898.
