Biography of the painter, draughtsman and teacher Alexander Graham Munro (1903-1985)

Alexander Graham Munro (1903-1985) was a painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Mid Calder in Midlothian in 1903. Munro was educated at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh and attended the Royal Scottish Academy Life School, won a scholarship and travelled to Paris for further studies.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Munro travelled extensively throughout Europe and North Africa, producing a large body of work.

Munro was elected to RSW and exhibited frequently at the RSA. He had a major exhibition at the Portland Gallery in 1989.
