The collection includes maritime, coastal, landmark and moorland subjects by artists working in the 19th and 20th centuries. A number of views of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall emphasise the endearing attraction and the intrigue of this landmark which is rendered adrift at the whim of the tide and vary from jolly holiday outings to darker interpretations where the island resembles a foreboding monument to the gothic.

A collection of maritime and sky studies by Norman Wilkinson are much lighter in treatment and depict familiar coastal and estuary views as does a watercolour by Moulton Foweraker looking across St Ives Bay to the Godrevy Lighthouse with a cottage and figure in the foreground.
A Moulton Foweraker (1873-1942): St Ives Bay with the Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance signed bottom left and inscribed with title on reverse, watercolour, 35cm x 52cm. Estimate: £600-£800.

Tom Rowden (1842-1926): Cattle grazing on a cliff coastal landscape beyond, signed and dated 1903 bottom right, watercolour, 17.5cm x 47cm. Estimate: £80-£120.
The activity of fishermen and sailors around the coast is recorded in works like The Racing Yachts by Noel Ellis, Dockworkers on a Quay by J Carmichael, Fishermen mending Nets by Edward Duncan or the charming still life of Marker Buoys & Fishing Nets by John Bulloch Souter.
