Biography

Jethro Marles is Head of the Jewellery Department at Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood.

Jethro Marles is a former champion downhill skier and at one time the UK's youngest qualified skiing instructor. Jethro joined the company as a saleroom assistant in 1977 when it was part of Sotheby's. Working in the Jewellery Department, he was soon undertaking important valuation work nationwide and assisting with national and international jewellery auctions. He became a Director of the company in 1992, but stood down in 1997 to become a consultant and devote more time to his jewellery making business.

Jethro Marles was one of the experts for Channel 4's 'Collectors Lot' and has regularly appeared on BBC's 'Flog It'. An enthusiastic wildlife conservationist, he is currently working to turn an old farmstead into a haven for wildlife. A keen amateur cook, growing vegetables also feeds his other passion of good food.
