Lot Description
A set of three Sèvres plates and a matching soup plate, each painted with a central
spray of flowers and fruit, the rims with similar smaller floral sprays within reserves
on a bleu celeste ground gilded with scrolling foliage, blue interlaced L's enclosing
date code LL (1788), painters marks for Levé, Commelin and Massy, gilder's marks
for Vincent, Chauveaux and possibly Vandé, 24 and 25cm diamter, the soup plate with
chip to foot rim.
* Three bearing labels 'From the Chérémèteff Sèvres Collection, Asher Wartheimer,
158 New Bond Street, London'.
