Sale Notes

Our next Antiques and Collectables Sale at our Honiton salerooms has an interesting number of lots on offer. The sale is led by the Ceramics section with 90 varied lots including Brannam, Wade, Doulton, Worcester, Continental and Oriental ceramics.

The sale continues with various Works of Art and Collectables, including various lots of silver, Masonic items and an early Victorian inlaid mahogany tea caddy set with floral tapestry panel (HO74/120). There is also a pair of spelter Marly horses and a pair of brass horses (HO74/114). If you are enjoying the wonderful sunshine this year and wish to take up an outdoor activity, why not try your hand at golf? The sale includes a set of twelve golf clubs and a bag (HO74/122).

Paintings, with various subjects to suit all tastes, include Reginald Daniel Sherrin (1891-1971) A Westcountry Cove - gouache, signed, 48cm x 69cm (HO74/249 ) and a view of local Devon interest painted by Alfred Leyman (1856-1933) Foss Street, Dartmouth - signed watercolour, 48cm x 35.5cm (estimated at £80-£120) (HO74/278).

The Furniture section completes the day with over 240 lots of various interesting pieces including sofas, dining tables, chest of drawers, mirrors and, with leisure time still in mind, a mid 19th Century rosewood rectangular card table (HO74/336) on a turned column and platform base (estimated at £160-£180), which would be an ideal purchase for those card games on dark cosy winter evenings.
