Sale Notes

The forthcoming sale of antiques and collectables has a number of pieces on offer that are quite unusual. The Swedish carved and moulded bowl (HO70/142) is shaped in the form of a bird with further bird decoration to the body. These bowls are not often seen at auction, hence the estimate of between £100 and £150.

In a world conscientious of recycling, antiques are perhaps the greenest and most environmentally friendly pieces. This is true of many of the pieces that are over one hundred years old, including the recycled iroko wood trug by Adam Langlands (HO70/208) and the more contemporary SLK mirror (HO70/139).

The sale has over 200 lots of furniture from a pair of museum library bookcases to small occasional tables, so there is something to cater for all tastes and needs.

The sale begins with a strong section of glassware with several lots of good period rummers for the collector, as well as a pair of late Victorian pink glass lustres.

It should be noted that this sale is being held on Wednesday due to the Bank Holiday on Monday and that there will be no weekend viewing for this sale.
