Sale Notes

The next sale at Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood is the last sale this year. It has the added benefit of being an Internet Live Bidding Sale as it contains the first 50 lots of the Rhead-Cronin Collection including ceramics from both Charlotte Rhead and Frederick Rhead as well as paintings, illustrations and some ephemera from them and other family members.

The sale, amongst it's usual diverse offerings, also contains everything that you might need for Christmas. If you're looking for a plate for your turkey the Ridgway transfer decorated example (EX81/158) adorned with a stately home might make your bird seem a little more regal and why not give your nuts the Rolls Royce treatment with an early 18th century carved boxwood nutcracker (EX81/367) whilst you consider which of the multiple lots of Scotch on offer (EX81/331-340) you might like. Heck it's Christmas why not treat yourself to all of it!

Then, in the evening, dig out a few logs from the commodious copper log bin (EX81/264), settle back and put a spot of shellac on the HMV tabletop gramophone (EX81/358), grab the rosewood, ivory and mother of pearl Bezique markers from the cupboard and settle down to an evening of gaming with the family - if you can't play Bezique, it is Christmas, you can learn, you have time on your hands.

Alternatively, you could use the time constructively and fall asleep in front of the television, chortling inwardly at the confused look on your wife's face when she unwrapped your Christmas two thousand year old present to her (EX81/369) - a group of turquoise glazed and wooden Egyptian Shabti.
