William Wells (1861-1942), a Scottish painter, was born in Glasgow and spent his early years in Australia.
Wells studied at the Slade Schools and in Paris.
Wells lived for a while at Topsham in Devon and finally Appledore in North Devon.
Wells exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy.
