Edward Ellicott (d 1791)

Biography of clockmaker Edward Ellicott (d 1791)

Edward Ellicott (d 1791) was a third-generation clockmaker from the Ellicott family, who worked at Royal Exchange in London.

Ellicott joined his father John Ellicott (1706-1772) in partnership circa 1758 and continued working until his death in 1791.

He was succeeded by his son, Edward Ellicott (d 1835), who continued running the business until his death in 1835.

Clocks were simply signed 'Ellicott' from 1791 onwards.
